The podcast

Why should we care about helping other people? How can we find the best ways to help? And what can we actually do to make the biggest difference we can?

Doing Good Better is a podcast about effective altruism — the idea that we shouldn't just try to 'do good', we should try to the most good we possibly can. Over three episodes we ask important questions about the why, the how, and the what of effective altruism:

The podcast's name comes from the book Doing Good Better by William MacAskill, which covers topics relating to effective altruism in much more depth.

Doing Good Better is a production of the Centre for Effective Altruism, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting more effective ways of doing good.

What is effective altruism?

Because we only have limited resources (like money, time, and energy), we can't possibly help out on every worthy cause. But we can make a big difference if we're smart about how we use these resources.

Effective altruism helps us prioritise, using reason and the best available evidence to find the most effective ways to do good.
